Research interests:

Tom works on the design and synthesis of small molecule inhibitors for Fe(II) and 2-Oxoglutarate dependent enzymes, with a particular focus on the HIF prolyl-hydroxylases. Working also under Professor Fernanda Duarte, Tom uses computationally aided drug discovery techniques to guide inhibitor design and further understand important structural and functional features of these targets.
